Atlanta—Birmingham—Atlanta. It’s good to be back home!

Why I love teaching:
I love teaching because I get fulfillment out of serving children and watching their potential be captured through learning at school. It brings me so much joy to see the look on a child’s face when her or she has achieved a huge goal. Children are also SO honest and make me laugh on a daily basis. I believe laughter helps us learn! I feel like this is what God instilled in me to do.
Before Whitefield:
I was born and raised in Atlanta. The past two years my husband and I were living in Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended divinity school. I am a total Atlanta city girl!
What I am learning:
I am learning patience and total reliance on God. Life has been so crazy recently because my husband and I are trying to start a new college ministry at Georgia Tech, we’ve just moved into our first home, and I am a busy 4th grade teacher. To juggle all of these things well, I must depend on the Lord.
In my classroom:
In my classroom this year, the theme is “Swinging into Fourth Grade and Going Wild for Christ”! Life is a big jungle today with many different people and things we encounter. I am teaching my students how to work well together in groups and be successful and confident!
Off campus:
When I am off campus you will catch me hanging out with my husband Dan, helping him with ministry. We also love doing things outdoors such as hiking, running, and rafting. I love to sing, dance, travel and spend time with my amazing family and friends.
