From Bell Buckle (a small town) to PreK-4 (small people); both lead to big adventures!

Before Whitefield:
I was born in Albany, Georgia, and I grew up in Bell Buckle, Tennessee (a small town of 250 people), which I believe helped make me the person I am today. Life was very simple there…it was a wonderful place to grow up. I graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers/ Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education .
Why teaching:
I love teaching because as I see the precious faces of the PreK-4 children as they learn about life (and their alphabet and numbers), I feel truly blessed.
Inside my classroom:
I believe a teacher should provide children with a nurturing, safe environment filled with love and praise. I am so grateful that God has given me the opportunity to teach at Whitefield and I hope to provide the children in my classroom with meaningful learning experiences that allow them to grow socially, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.
My colleagues:
My colleagues are the most wonderful, supportive, and encouraging people. Through my friends at Whitefield, I have continued to grow in my Christian life. It has been an amazing journey.
Me at home:
I love spending time with my daughters—going shopping, traveling to Destin in the summer, or just going to the pool. I also enjoy filling my yard with flowers in the spring and fall, and as often as possible, I enjoy getting up early and walking on the Silver Comet Trail.
