- Attend a DISCOVER WHITEFIELD event! Take a tour on a Friday morning, and join us at the Parent Coffee and also
the Family Open House. (See admission calendar for specific dates and times.)
- Complete an online application, and ensure that all the downloaded forms are returned to the Admission Office. In order
for a student to be considered as an "applicant," the Admission Office must receive the completed Family Information form.
- Schedule off-site testing as soon as possible
(not applicable for students applying to PreK-4).
Kindergarten - 5th grade JATP (Joint Atlanta Testing Program)
Families must obtain registration forms from the Whitefield website or admission packet and schedule appointments individually
with a psychologist listed on the form.
6th - 12th grade SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test)
Families may register on-line at www.ssat.org. Whitefield will serve as
a test site in November, December, January, and February. The SSAT at Whitefield will be administered in small classroom
settings.
- An appointment for an Observation (PreK-4 through 3rd grade) or an Interview (4th through 12th grade) will be scheduled
by the Admission Office after a completed Family Information form has been received.
- As necessary, timely letters will be mailed stating which forms are missing from your application file. However, if you
apply online, you have the ability to manage your application process via the website.
- The deadline for applying for admission to Whitefield is Friday, February 12, 2010. Decision letters will be mailed on
Friday, April 2, 2010. Replies accepting/declining an offer of admission must be received in the Admission Office by Thursday,
April 15, 2010.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
- Whitefield Academy was originally established and currently operates as a covenant school. Our definition of a covenant
school is one wherein at least one parent/guardian (and preferably both parents/guardians) professes faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ as his/her personal Savior.
- Whitefield Academy is a school that services average and above average students, that is students with average or above
average IQs (intelligence quotients); students who score at the average range or higher on reputable standardized achievement
tests (determined by Whitefield Academy); and students who demonstrate average or above average past academic success.
- Whitefield Academy requires and expects exemplary deportment from its students. Thus, only students with commendable behavioral
records will be considered for admission.
- Students must be 4 years old by September 1 to apply for PreK-4 and 5 years old by September 1 to apply for Kindergarten.
