The Whitefield Band

The Whitefield Academy instrumental music program began in 1999 with a mixed nine-piece ensemble. In 2004-2005 there are 120 students in grades 6-12 who participate in the following ensembles: Marching Band, Concert Band I or II, Pep Band, Worship Team, Jazz Band and Orchestra. The philosophy of the program is to develop each child's God-given potential musically and to create performance settings which display excellence, that above all, give glory to God.

Whitefield is a member of GISA and GMEA and participates in many state-wide activities such as All-state, All-Select and other state sponsored festivals. The instrumental program is very involved in the community as well playing for senior citizen groups, hotels, conferences, churches and sporting events. All ensembles perform regularly throughout the year at assemblies, chapels, meetings, sporting events and a dynamic annual Arts Week event. With 25% of the middle and high school students participating, music is very popular at Whitefield Academy!
