PACK Parenting Seminar for Lower and Middle School: Anxiety is Real and Manageable!

Tuesday, October 24, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Barnett Gathering Room (Lower Level of Founders Hall, Middle School Building)
Lower School and Middle School Parents: Do you have anxiety in your house? Please join us as Teresa Woodruff, Founder and Director of Art it Out Therapy Center, provides valuable insight into managing anxiety for Lower School and Middle School students. We will discuss how to know when anxiety becomes unhealthy and give you strategies on how to help your anxious child. There is no registration necessary and no cost associated with the seminar. Feel free to invite a friend - Whitefield and non-Whitefield parents welcome!

Middle and Upper School Mini-Skills Course Offerings in Innovation Lab

This fall, Whitefield is offering a variety of mini-skills courses for Middle and Upper School students which will utilize our new Innovation Lab. Convertibles Needed!

We are in need of 5 to 6 convertibles to drive in our Homecoming Court parade before the October 27 football game. If you own a convertible and would be willing to drive, please email Andrea Blackwood with the make and model of your car.

Lower School News 

ILTRW is Coming!

It's that time of year again: Whitefield's annual I Love To Read Week begins next week, October 23-27! This fun-filled week includes a Family Night Book Fair at Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, classroom visits by children's book illustrator Michael P. White and juggler Ron Anglin, a parent coffee gathering at Barnes & Noble on Thursday, and - of course - the Great ILTRW Book Parade on Friday. Middle School Spirit Week

Next week is Middle School Spirit Week to celebrate Whitefield's Homecoming! Remember to wear things that are school appropriate. If you do not want to participate in a day or do not have a costume/outfit for that day, you must wear your school uniform to school - it is not a free dress day.

Monday: Costume Party (dress up in a creative outfit or character costume)
Tuesday: Retro Roller Skating Party (wear outfits that reflect the 70s, 80s, or 90s)
Wednesday: Slumber Party (wear pajamas)
Thursday: “Big Game” Tailgating Party (wear favorite college/professional team wear)
Friday: Homecoming Celebration! (wear blue/gold Whitefield wear)


Middle School Night at Varsity Football!

TONIGHT, October 20 at the Varsity Football Game
Pack Backers is hosting Middle School Night at the Varsity football game TONIGHT. Come out and Back the Pack against Pinecrest Academy AND earn a free dress day on Monday, October 30! Enter the free drawing* to win an ENO hammock, an Echo Dot, a $50 Amazon gift card, or a candy basket! *You must enter at the PackBackers table next to the concessions stand between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. One entry per Middle School Student. Winners will be announced at the end of the 3rd quarter and you must be present to win!

All sixth- through eighth-grade boys planning to try out for middle school basketball should attend this mandatory meeting. Tryouts will be held next week.


WolfPack Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts Conclude Today

Concluding TODAY, October 20, 3:30-5 p.m.
Middle School and Upper School Wolfpack Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts will continue today in the LSSAC. These tryouts are closed to spectators. Please contact Amelia Carmichael with any questions.

Community Service Hours at Jonquil Fest!

Saturday and Sunday, October 28-29, Smyrna Market Village
Do you love our school? Do you want to tell others about Whitefield and share your story? There are many opportunities coming up this fall to do just that! The Whitefield Parent Ambassadors are looking for interested students and/or parents who would like to spend a couple of hours at the Smyrna Jonquil Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 28-29 or at other events such as the Vinings Tree Lighting, Veteran’s Day Ceremony and more. Please click here to view these opportunities. Student service at the Jonquil Festival will count for community service hours, and parents and students can work together!
