The 5th/6th football team came together on Saturday, October 7, for their annual pink out game to heighten awareness of breast cancer.

While both teams arrived to the game undefeated, and Mount Vernon walked away with the win, the WolfPack family had a winning day. Their morning started strong with a breakfast tailgate in the Quad, complete with music, a breakfast spread, and plenty of coffee. The boys, decked out in pink socks and wrist guards, were sent off to the field through a tremendous cheer tunnel.

Mount Vernon joined the pink out, and both teams had players' mothers who are breast cancer survivors as honorary captains. The ladies’ message to the fans was to be proactive and get those mammograms!

A highlight of the day was the generosity of the Whitefield community. Donors provided a few raffle prizes that raised over $600 in ticket sales during the game, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
