Whitefield Academy wrestler Alex Dabbiere came back from the state tournament with a medal in his weight category.
Dabbiere took fifth in the 140 pound weight class. Five other Whitefield athletes also traveled to the state mee, including Chase Butler, Luke Putney, Taylor Tutt, Forrest Parks, and Sam Shuler.
“The varsity wrestling team had a great season and competed well on both the dual and individual levels. The highlight of the year came as six Whitefield wrestlers competed in this year’s State Tournament,” Head Coach John East said. “To tope it off, Alex ended his stellar Whitefield Academy career with a win to became a two-time state medalist.”
