Congratulations to Varsity basketball player Tekele Cotton, who was recently selected for the Naismith Boys’ All Metro Team by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. The Atlanta Tipoff Club was founded in 1956 to promote continued support for the game of basketball and to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of high school and college players who make the game so exciting. The Naismith awards, named after Dr. James Naismith, the founder of the game of basketball, are recognized nationally as the most prestigious trophies in high school and college basketball.
"This is a very prestigious award from an athletic standpoint," said Coach Tyrone Johnson, "It is awarded to the top 30 high school basketball players in all of metro-Atlanta, regardless of class. It's also generally only awarded to seniors and Tekele is a junior. We are very proud of Tekele."
