Congratulations to our Whitefield second graders who recently collected $870 for Vision Rehabilitation Services (VRS). VRS is a local organization that helps adults and children in our community who are blind or have low-vision. The organization trains those who have lost sight to resume normal daily activities such as reading, writing, cooking, cleaning or grocery shopping.
The money the second graders raised specifically helped a five-year-old named Tristan who has low vision. The funds helped purchase special devices to help Tristan with his vision which his family could not afford on their own.
Whitefield is very proud of these students who put "others ahead of self" and worked to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.
