Ben McNally selected to highly competitive leadership programs
Posted: 6/23/2010

Ben McNally, rising junior at Whitefield, was recently selected to participate in the National Student Leadership Conference on Intelligence & National Security this summer at American University. During the conference, Ben will attend specialized workshops and classes designed to develop the skills and traits that define a leader.

Ben will also participate in hands-on activities that provide students with a day-in-the-life understanding of a prospective career in this field. He will also meet with and learn from recognized leaders such as the CIA director, Supreme Court justices, senators, representatives and more. The program will take place in July.

Following this program, Ben will also participate in the International Leadership Program at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Ben was selected for this highly competitive academic program based on his PSAT scores and academic achievement.

The 3-week program is the oldest program for high school scholars at Cambridge and offers college credit recommendations. It provides a stimulating and rigorous course of study for highly-motivated scholars.

"I'll be studying leadership skills as well as British history and government," said Ben. Ben will also have an opportunity to visit London, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, and other British landmarks.
