Middle School Summer Reading 2008

In the Middle School, each teacher will begin the year by looking at the Required Reading. We suggest that students read the required book near the close of summer vacation so that they have a vivid remembrance of what they have read when classes begin. Though individual teachers might give different assignments, students can be assured that their teachers will ask them to respond to the books with knowledge and insight through discussions, tests, and writing assignments. In addition to reading the required book, we expect students to read two other books from the “Suggested List.” Students should read books they have not previously read. Again, Amazon.com offers reviews and critiques of thousands and thousands of books, and undoubtedly most if not all of these.
