Philosophy on Interscholastic Athletics
At Whitefield we believe that the athletics program is an important component of the total educational structure. While
striving to make our teams as competitive as possible, our primary objective is to help our student-athletes acquire important
skills that will help them to be successful in their adult lives. Our efforts as coaches are focused on teaching student-athletes
how to win and not just on winning. Through positive reinforcement and intentional teaching, coaches show our athletes how
to succeed and project an image of gracious competitors who embrace challenge, win with humility, handle defeat with dignity,
advocate for their sport, and are positive Christian role models.
Whitefield Academy student-athletes perform under the motto: “Work Hard. Play Hard. Honor Him.” The philosophy of Whitefield’s
athletic program centers on its coaches who put athletes in positions to learn and succeed through respect and honoring
the Lord in all that they do, as well as the principles set forth in the mission statement of the school. The athletic department
is dedicated to high academic standards, supporting ethnic and gender diversity, and providing equitable athletic opportunities
for boys and girls.
Whitefield Academy is committed to excellence in athletics and academics as evidenced by earning regional championships
and state championships. Teams have produced numerous All-Region, All-Conference, and All-State players. In addition, numerous
graduates have gone on to play at the intercollegiate level. The WolfPack’s team colors are navy, white, and gold.

Athletic Department Philosophy Statement
Whitefield Academy considers participation in athletics to be an integral part of a student’s overall educational experience.
Athletics provides opportunities for physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development. Whitefield Academy’s Athletic
Program’s mission is to continually and faithful project the image of Christ. All student athletes, coaches, and individuals
involved in the athletic program must work hard, play hard, and honor Him each and every day. In turn, accomplishing the
primary goal ensures a successful program built on the strength, security, and foundation of Christ.
