With toys in hand and dressed in their favorite Christmas shirts, hats, headbands, and colors, Lower School students walked from the Lower School to the Middle School on Dec. 7 in the annual Toy Parade. Waiting outside of the Middle School were fifth-grade teachers and students. The fifth-graders received the toys from the Lower School students and loaded them into waiting vehicles to deliver them to the City of Refuge, an outreach ministry in downtown Atlanta. After the parade, Lower School students enjoyed cookies and milk in the LSSAC, served by parent volunteers, while the fifth-grade class traveled to the City of Refuge to deliver the donated toys. While at the City of Refuge, the fifth-graders sorted and bagged the toys after praying for the children who will receive them.
