WolfPack Weekly Roundup: October 22, 2018
Categories: General, Athletics
Posted: 10/23/2018

Last week the WolfPack competed in six athletic events. On Thursday, our 7th and 8th grade Middle School football team showed great resilience as they fought back from a 0-14 halftime score to ultimately beat the Mount Pisgah Patriots 35-21 catapulting them into the championship! After this awesome comeback, we’re looking forward to cheering on this team again as they defend their Metro 10 championship title this Thursday at 4:30 at Whitefield! Other victories from the week came from our JV football team, who earned a 28-6 win over Fellowship Christian to give them a 6-0-1 season for the year! Congrats to Coach Wright and the JV team for a solid season. The varsity followed that up with an exciting win over Walker Friday night to bring them to 6-2 on the season. Finally we capped off the exciting week of action as we cheered for our 5th & 6th grade football team who competed in the Metro 10 championship game; though they didn’t take the victory, we’re so proud of the hard work and dedication they’ve shown throughout this season! For more information on these athletic events and others, including Middle School tennis victories over Pinecrest, check out the recaps below.

This week our PackBackers would like to share that the Spirit Spotlight is on our varsity football team! This team has had an outstanding season thus far, having just earned a thrilling 20 – 13 victory over Walker. We’re excited to cheer them on this Friday night at home, as we take on Fellowship Christian! Be on the lookout for videos celebrating this team throughout this week.

Friday night’s game will also be our senior night celebration, where we’ll recognize our fall senior athletes for all the hard work and leadership they’ve contributed to their athletic programs over the last four years. We’ll be kicking off this celebration with a pep rally on Thursday afternoon, when we’re also looking forward to cheering on our Middle School football team in the Metro 10 championship and our varsity cross-country team as they compete in their regional meet at Darlington. Click here to see our full athletic calendar, and be sure to come out and back the Pack!

This week is also athletics highlight week for the Whitefield Fund! I and the rest of the athletics department are so incredibly grateful for the way that the Whitefield Fund contributes to our goal of building award-winning athletics programs that glorify the One who gave us the ability to work and play. Thank you to those of you that have already contributed to this year’s Fund! Your generosity has a direct impact on WolfPack athletics.

Looking forward to backing the Pack alongside you soon!
