Why Whitfield:

As a new Whitefield teacher 15 years ago, I was asked to read a book about teaching students to think for themselves – that is exactly what my husband Ed and I said was our primary desire for our three boys - so Whitefield was an answer to our prayer. I love Whitefield because over the years I have seen what “God has prepared for those who love Him” for my students as well as my sons. The opportunities God provides for our students continue to amaze me! For my sons it was - for one in the arts, another in academics, and the third in athletics.

Why Whitefield? I love Whitefield because after a few months at college, my oldest son said, “Mom, the things my Whitefield teachers taught me were truth; I don’t mean the things from the books.” When my youngest graduated from fifth grade at Whitefield, the teachers had chosen a scripture and spiritual gift they had seen in him to share at the graduation, rather than asking what his favorite memory was. Why Whitefield? Because as a teacher they trust me, encourage me, and support me in my teaching and in my spiritual personal life.

I have lived in Atlanta for 30 years, which is amazing to me that I have lived in one place for that long!
