Why Whitefield:
Education is a means of affecting generations. Christian education affects generations of people for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Christian education is not just what we teach, but why and how we teach. As a Christ-centered college preparatory school, which exists to bolster Christian families in rearing young people who go on to college and life with a passion for learning, for others ahead of self, and for the living and active Jesus, Whitefield Academy is on mission for affecting generations for the Gospel. I am delighted to be a part of this endeavor.

Why I love teaching:
I love gardening. Gardening reminds me very much of teaching: preparing the ground using quality “dirt” (combinations of humus, sand, manure) and planning well so that the gardening spot has the appropriate amount of sunlight and water, provides an environment where plants will thrive – the harvest will usually be abundant! Planning, preparing my heart and mind, knowing the material I am teaching, embracing the hard work and relationships, and teaching with joy and light provides an environment for students to thrive. And, yes, the harvest is usually abundant! What a delightful way to live!

My family:
I am always thankful for my parents who consistently lived the Gospel. I want to live the Gospel for my family and for my new family at Whitefield Academy. My husband Steve and I met at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Steve and I have four children and five grandchildren. We have lived in several states in the Southeast, but are delighted to be in Georgia, where I was born and raised.
