Middle School Cross Country Wraps Up Season

The Middle School cross-country team had a busy week with strong performances to finish up their season at the Metro10 championship meet on October 10 and the Middle School state meet on October 14 (both two-mile courses).

Metro10 Championship Meet

The girls team earned fourth place out of 10 teams, with medal-winning performances by sixth-grader Ruby Little and seventh-grader Adie Henderson (first and fourth places overall with times of 13:22 and 14:24) and strong final performances of the season by fifth-graders Jessica Blackburn, Emma Kate Douglas, and Natalie McKinney.

The boys team also earned fourth place out of 10 teams, with Riley Hugues (5th), John Johnson (8th), and Sebastian Nandkeolyar (8th) leading the Pack with season best times of 12:37, 12:38, and 12:55, respectively. Taylor Wade (7th), Jaden Jones (8th), Blaise Richburg (8th), and John Robert Bracher (8th) rounded out the top seven times for the boys team. Cutty Patton (8th), Andrew Santone (7th), Grayson Fiftal (6th), Conlon Walker (7th), Charlie Pannell (6th), Benjamin Herschend (8th), and Graham Hood (5th) all had great performances at the region meet as well and dropped time.

Middle School State Meet

The state meet was hot and humid, and the new course was very challenging. For the girls team, Ruby Little (6th) came in ninth place out of 166 runners with a time of 13:40, and Adie Henderson (7th) finished the season with a strong performance as well.

The boys team also had a great showing at the state meet. John Johnson (8th) led the team for the boys championship race with a 13:17. Taylor Wade (7th), Sebastian Nandkeolyar (8th), Jaden Jones (8th), John Robert Bracher (8th), Blaise Richburg (8th), and Perry LeBlanc (8th) rounded out the boys championship team. Cameron Alexander (6th) and David Carroll (6th) finished the season with excellent performances in the boys JV race.
