On Monday, May 1, three members of the Whitefield community were honored by City of Smyrna Mayor Max Bacon at an Education Awards Ceremony. As a strong advocate for education, Mayor Bacon created the Mayor's Education Awards in 2006 to recognize outstanding students, staff members, and volunteers from Smyrna-area schools, both public and private. Recipients are honored for their academic achievement, dedication and volunteer service.

Senior Christina Nicks received an award in the student category, parent Kara Peterson was recognized in the volunteer category, and Middle School English teacher Amelia Carmichael received an award in the faculty/staff category.

Whitefield is very proud of these recipients! Congratulations!
