Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Childree are always on the lookout to encourage and inspire each other as artists by entering juried art competitions, which allows them to grow in their abilities and creativity as teaching artists. Locally, both teachers have photos accepted as part of the South Cobb Arts Alliance (SCAA) Annual Photography Exhibit “Celebrating Differences” at the Mable House from September 27 to October 30. The Whitefield Jazz Band played for the SCAA opening reception on September 30.

Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Childree will also have several paintings featured during the Taylor-Brawner House Foundation’s Fourth Annual “Park with Art” Artists Invitational, which runs from October 6-15. The opening reception for this exhibit is Friday, October 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Taylor–Brawner House and benefits the Taylor-Brawner House Foundation.
