Whitefield singers performed at the 2017 Mable House Storytelling Festival on Saturday, October 14. Along with groups from surrounding schools, including a lively set from the Pebblebrook Gospel Choir, Whitefield’s Middle School Chorus and cast members from Whitefield's upcoming play, "Anything Goes," charmed the crowd with a range of musical numbers.

The Middle School Chorus performed songs from their Flavors of Fall Concert set, including the African folk song "Ayele," the American folk song "This Train," and a newer choral work, "Homeward Bound." They finished the set with a performance of the Cyndi Lauper classic, "True Colors," recently repopularized by the movie "Trolls." Two students, Will Overstreet and Moriah McNair, sang solos.

After the Middle School Chorus set was finished, cast members from the Upper School drama production "Anything Goes" took the stage to perform several classic Cole Porter songs, including "Goodbye," "Little Dream," "There Will Always Be a Lady Fair," "It’s De-Lovely," and "All Through the Night."

Audience response was warm, and both the Middle and Upper School students left more confident for their upcoming on-campus performances. The Middle School Chorus will perform again in the Flavors of Fall Concert on Thursday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Louise Owens Theater. "Anything Goes" will be performed November 10 and 11 in the same space. Tickets will be available soon!
