The highlight of last week was without a doubt our Friday night football game, in which Whitefield hosted the first round of GHSA state playoffs and took on the Walker Wolverines. After an awesome season of hard work, the WolfPack was excited to return home and host the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

The Pack played a great game, cheered on by a passionate home crowd dressed in all white, filling up WolfPack stadium. The first half turned out to be a continuation of last week's defensive battle, with the WolfPack on top 6-0 at halftime. With the same relentless spirit they have shown all season long, the Pack did not let up and finished off the Wolverines in the second half for a solid 26-7 victory, advancing them to the second round of the GHSA playoffs! The team will now face Prince Avenue Christian this Friday in a showdown in Athens. I look forward to seeing everyone there to cheer on our Pack!

Friday’s event kicked off a full weekend for Whitefield. Our varsity basketball teams each competed in scrimmages against South Cobb High, while Middle School boys blue and gold basketball teams competed in a tournament, and our swim teams participated in meets. For details on these competitions as well as the Middle School tennis victories that were achieved earlier in the week, see the recaps below.

This week our winter athletic competitions are back in full swing. The WolfPack will compete in six basketball games, three Middle School tennis matches, a swim meet, and a wrestling match. In addition to this Friday's football game, we’re looking forward to the opportunity to be back in the gym together to cheer for our JV and varsity basketball teams, which compete at home against Cumberland Christian. Thank you for your continued support of Whitefield athletics. It’s been great to cheer for our athletes with you throughout the fall season, and I’m looking forward to more opportunities to do so this winter.

Go Pack!
