Learning to Lead.
Leading to Serve.

At Whitefield Academy, students don’t just learn about leadership. They put it into action.

Through our Student Leadership Institute (SLI), Upper School students are empowered to discover their leadership potential, equipped with essential skills, and engaged in meaningful opportunities to lead and serve. With guidance from faculty advisors, students gain hands-on experience leading initiatives, planning events, mentoring peers, and making an impact on campus and beyond.

Rooted in Whitefield’s commitment to putting others ahead of self, SLI prepares students to lead with confidence, character, and purpose in college and beyond.

Explore Our Student Leadership Opportunities

From athletics and the arts to service and spiritual life, students can develop their leadership skills in areas that reflect their gifts and interests.

Broadcast Team

Students gain hands-on experience in broadcasting, filming, announcing, and production while helping bring Whitefield events to the community. From athletics to chapels and special events, they develop technical and leadership skills through real-world responsibilities.

Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy

Through leadership training and hands-on service projects, students build skills in teamwork, communication, and innovation. They put those skills into action by planning and carrying out projects that make a difference in their community.

Hands and Feet Service Academy

Students put their faith into action by organizing and leading service opportunities on campus and throughout the Greater Atlanta community. Through partnerships with local ministries and nonprofits, they inspire others to serve.

Honor Council

Student leaders help promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and strong character throughout Whitefield. Through peer education and participation in the Honor Council process, they encourage fellow students to live out the school’s Honor Code.

Missions Support Team

Students develop leadership skills through service and collaboration with Whitefield’s domestic and international ministry partners. They help support mission initiatives while building relationships and learning about meaningful, Christ-centered service.

Pack Ambassadors

Students serve as representatives of Whitefield, welcoming prospective families and assisting with campus tours, admission events, and student visits. Along the way, they strengthen their communication, hospitality, and leadership skills.

Peer Mentoring

Senior student leaders receive training to mentor incoming freshmen, helping them build relationships and navigate the transition to Upper School. Through regular activities and encouragement, mentors create a welcoming and supportive community.

Student Activities Team

Students help shape campus life by planning events, encouraging school spirit, and representing the student body. Through committee leadership and collaboration, they develop organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT)

Student-athletes develop the skills and character to lead on their teams, across campus, and beyond. Through leadership training and collaboration with the athletic department, they learn to lead by example and positively influence others.

Ten Thousand Reasons Leadership Team

Students help lead Whitefield’s unique charitable grant program, empowering their peers to support causes they care about. Team members promote grant opportunities, guide fellow students through the process, and celebrate the impact of grants awarded.

Worship Team

Students grow as spiritual leaders by helping plan and lead chapels and other worship experiences. Opportunities include music, speaking, production, and creative development.

Mike Shaheen

Director of Student Leadership

Having worked with students for many years, I have seen firsthand the impact that meaningful leadership opportunities can have on their growth and development. At Whitefield, we believe leadership is about more than developing skills or holding a position. It is about discovering the unique gifts God has given each student and learning how to use those gifts to serve others. Through our Student Leadership Institute, students are challenged to grow in confidence, character, and faith while putting their leadership skills into action. Our hope is that they leave Whitefield prepared to lead with purpose, putting others ahead of self, and making a meaningful impact for Christ wherever God calls them.
