Welcome to the WolfPack

The Athletic Program at Whitefield encompasses almost 90 percent of the Upper School and Middle School student body each year. In its brief history, Whitefield has competed in ten GHSA State Championships, earned six state championships and sent more than 100 graduates to compete professionally or in the NCAA. Whitefield fields 56 sports teams: including 21 varsity teams representing basketball, soccer, football, tennis, track and field, cross country, baseball, softball, wrestling, volleyball, golf, swimming, lacrosse, and cheerleading. Athletic programs for middle school students, including a fifth and sixth grade football team, prepare student athletes for varsity levels and beyond.

Whitefield also has comprehensive Strength & Conditioning and Sports Medicine programs, including a full-time athletic training staff committed to providing preventative care, immediate attention to injury, and rehabilitation services for athletes.

Coaches at Whitefield understand that an athletic program serves to accomplish much more than building athletic skill; the attitudes and actions practiced on the field or court are often a reflection of the way adversities in life are approached. Our coaches act as mentors and are committed to preparing students to honor Christ in all areas of life.

Danny Ryan
Athletic Director
Danny Ryan is Whitefield Academy's athletic director, overseeing all athletic teams as well as the school's sports medicine and athletic training programs. He has been at Whitefield since 2008 and previously served as assistant athletic director and head athletic trainer. Ryan also developed the Student WolfPack Athletic Training (SWAT) program for students interested in learning the basics of athletic training and assisting at sporting events. Before coming to Whitefield he had a seasonal internship with the Tampa Bay Rays and was a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech. He has an undergraduate degree in athletic training and sports medicine from the University of South Florida. Ryan is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is licensed and certified in the state of Georgia.
