Fine Arts at Whitefield Academy

Course Offerings that Inspire Creativity from PreK through 12th Grade

Whether on stage, behind an instrument, or in front of a canvas, Whitefield Academy students are encouraged to explore, refine, and share their talents. Our Fine Arts programs are built to challenge and inspire every learner—equipping them for future success and a lifetime of creative expression.

Visual Art

Students are encouraged to explore their God-given creativity while building artistic skill and confidence. Through hands-on projects and exhibitions, they create meaningful work that reflects both faith and personal expression.

Lower School: Weekly art classes blending creative play with art history and fundamentals
Middle School: Core instruction in Grades 5–6, followed by electives
Upper School: Diverse courses including Photography, Graphic Design, Yearbook, Drawing, Sculpture, AP Studio Art, and more

Theater

Our theatre program encourages students to express their creativity on stage and behind the scenes, using storytelling to glorify God.

Lower School: Chapel performances and auditions for the annual Big Broadcast
Middle & Upper School: Elective classes in acting, directing, set design, makeup, and more
Students also participate in events like the Georgia Thespian Conference, earning recognition for their excellence.

Band

From early exposure to rhythm and tone in PreK–Grade 4 to advanced ensemble performances in Upper School, the band program offers a clear path of growth. Beginning in Grade 5, students may choose to learn a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. By Middle and Upper School, students can participate in:

  • Traveling Jazz Band
  • Two Concert Bands
  • Dynamic marching band with drum line and color guard

Chorus

Students grow in musical skill and expression while honoring God through song.

Lower School: Foundational music classes with optional Chorale beginning in Grade 2
Middle & Upper School: Elective chorus builds vocal technique and performance skills
Additional Opportunities: Students in Grade 6+ may audition for Cadence, our Middle School show choir

Orchestra

Our orchestra program nurtures musical excellence through ensemble-based instruction and performance. Students gain experience through regular chapel, concert, and event performances.

Lower School: Optional after-school violin lessons
Middle School: Elective classes in orchestra, music theory, and composition
Upper School: Four performance ensembles, including the community-focused Cornerstone Ensemble
