A Christ-Centered Start for Your Child’s Educational Journey
PreK: Age 4 by September 1
Kindergarten: Age 5 by September 1
You’ve seen how curious and creative your child is, but now comes some of the big questions:
Are they ready for school?
Will they make friends?
Will the teacher understand their areas for stretch while fostering their strengths?
As a parent, it’s easy to feel unsure, especially when this is your first time navigating school choices. But at Whitefield Academy, our private PreK and kindergarten programs are designed not only for young learners, but for families. From the first hello, we’re here to walk alongside you, offering support and classrooms filled with discovery, prayer, and purpose. Your child won’t just learn how to hold a pencil or count to 10, they’ll be nurtured as a whole person, shaped by scripture, and surrounded by a loving school community that shares your heart for raising children with a biblical worldview.
A Predictable Routine That Helps Children Feel Secure
Young children thrive when they know what to expect. At Whitefield Academy, our daily rhythms are designed to help students feel safe and excited to learn. With plenty of movement, hands-on exploration, and time to recharge, each day offers the perfect balance of structure and joy. Cub Care
We understand that school hours may not always match your family’s routine. That’s why Whitefield offers after-school care for both PreK and Kindergarten students, giving children time to play and enjoy safe, supervised activities with friends.
A Nurturing Environment Where
Young Learners Can Thrive
Every child is different. Some come bounding into the classroom on the first day, while others take time to settle in. At Whitefield Academy, we create a learning environment that meets each student where they are.
Two Educators in Every Classroom
Every PreK and kindergarten classroom at Whitefield Academy includes both a lead teacher and a full-time associate teacher who remain with their class throughout the year. This allows us to give each child individual attention and a secure, responsive learning experience from the very beginning. With PreK class sizes typically ranging from 14 to 16 students and kindergarten classes ranging from 14 to 17 students, teachers have the time and capacity to connect deeply with each learner.
Structure That Brings Confidence
Young children thrive when expectations are clear and consistent. Our teachers use predictable routines, positive reinforcement, and steady guidance to help students settle in and feel secure. Whether it’s navigating classroom transitions or solving peer conflicts, children learn to manage expectations and acquire foundational tools for making wise choices and accountability to respond to others with grace, honesty, and care.
Play with a Purpose
In both PreK and Kindergarten, playtime is more than just a break, it’s a vital part of learning. Along with outdoor recess twice a day, students enjoy time for discovery-based play inside the classroom. This kind of open-ended exploration helps them build language, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
Kindness That’s Lived Out Daily
Our teachers lead with compassion, modeling the same biblical values they teach. That means we respond to mistakes with love and correction.. This biblical approach shapes not just behavior, but the heart.
Our kindergarten program is located on our Lower School campus, which features two age-specific KOMPAN® playgrounds designed to encourage collaboration and gross motor development. With built-in obstacle elements, open-ended climbing structures, and opportunities for multi-child interaction, the playground naturally fosters teamwork and resilience.
Whitefield Academy has been a tremendous blessing to our family. From the start, we felt the strength of the community, the shared faith, and the genuine care poured into every child. The school’s commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and whole-child development is evident every day. Our children are growing in confidence, character, and a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with Christ at the center. With outstanding athletics and enrichment opportunities, Whitefield truly shapes well-balanced, joyful young people, and we are so grateful to be part of this community.

Technology That Supports, Not Distracts
In PreK and kindergarten, technology is used intentionally and sparingly. Teachers model how to use tools like interactive displays or tablets, but children do not spend time independently on devices in PreK. In Kindergarten, guided time with technology is introduced in age-appropriate ways to support teacher-directed specific learning goals. The focus remains on human connection, hands-on learning, and the development of foundational skills.
Safety You Can Count On
Your child’s safety, physically and emotionally, is our top priority. Whitefield’s Lower School building is fully secured, with restricted access, a monitored front desk, and four full-time security team members, including an off-duty City of Smyrna police officer on campus each day. Teachers are fully trained in safety procedures, and the school hosts monthly drills.
A full-time nurse is available, and each class carries any emergency medical items a child may need. Our full-time guidance counselor teaches healthy social-emotional skills and works to ensure children are supported from the very first day to the end of the year celebration.
