Meet our Leadership

Kevin Bracher, Ph.D.
Head of School
Kevin Bracher is the head of school at Whitefield Academy. He began at Whitefield in 2007 as principal of the Middle School and continued to assume roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to his appointment as head of school, he was serving as the school’s academic dean focusing on curriculum, faculty development, testing, technology, and accreditation. With over 25 years of experience as an educator, Bracher has demonstrated consistent dedication to excellence, integrity, and Christ-centered leadership in both public and private schools. His career began as a high school math teacher (ranging from algebra through AP calculus) and coach of three sports, followed by leadership posts in all three K-12 levels - high school, middle school, and elementary school. Bracher has an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and three graduate degrees from Georgia State University, including a Ph.D. in educational leadership.
Jeannie Brostrand
Lower School Principal
Jeannie Brostrand currently serves as the Lower School principal at Whitefield. Brostrand was working at another Atlanta Christian school when she was introduced to Whitefield by a friend. She taught first grade the inaugural year of Whitefield’s Lower School and progressed into her current leadership position, which she has held since 2005. Brostrand earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Purdue University and her Master’s in Teaching from DePauw University. She has taught first, third, and fourth grades, totaling 28 years in both private and public education. Brostrand believes her tenure at Whitefield is a calling; she is passionate about supporting teachers and assistants, partnering with our parents, and loving her Lower School students.
Michelle Durrett
Director of Business Affairs
Michelle Durrett directs business affairs for Whitefield, providing operational oversight for the school in the areas of business, human resources, and health and risk management. Previously, Durrett worked as the chief financial officer for McIntosh Capital, McCall Technology, and Technology Ventures, directing all financial reporting, accounting, cash management, and legal directives. She also worked as the vice president of central accounting for Camberley Associates, Inc., a private hotel company. Durrett came to Whitefield Academy in March 2004 as a consultant and joined the school for a permanent position in June 2004.
Ron Farrar
Middle School Principal
Ron Farrar is the Middle School principal at Whitefield. He earned his bachelor's degree studying middle school education and history from Fitchburg State University and received his Master of Education from Cambridge College. Farrar has a Biblical studies degree from Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California. He also earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Educational Leadership, both from Cambridge College.
Tyrone Johnson
Director of Student Life
Tyrone Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in education teaching subjects from health to Biblical studies as well as serving for many years as a varsity boys basketball coach, a role in which he earned three state championships and four runner-up finishes. He has been a part of Whitefield Academy since 2001, and currently serves as the Director of Student Life. Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from Troy University, and his master’s in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.
Michelle Marriott
Director of Admissions
Michelle Marriott began serving as Whitefield's director of admissions in 2016. She began at Whitefield in 2002 as a first grade teacher, and has also served as the Lower School director of academics, a member of the instructional leadership team, and a Christian Schools International coordinator. She also served as the varsity and Middle School swimming and diving coach for seven years. She began her career in the business field as a consultant and financial analyst but soon realized God was leading her into the field of education. She is passionate about Christian education and has enjoyed teaching from a biblical worldview. Marriott has a B.A. from Furman University, M.B.A. from Wake Forest University, and a master's level teaching certificate from Mercer University.
Lauren Race
Director of Development
Lauren Race joined the Whitefield team in 2018 as director of development. Race brings over ten years of fundraising experience to the position which were focused on developing and stewarding relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. She has managed annual campaign efforts and executed major comprehensive campaigns for organizations including the Kansas State University Foundation, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. She holds a B.A. from Kansas State University.
Danny Ryan
Athletic Director
Danny Ryan is Whitefield Academy's athletic director, overseeing all athletic teams as well as the school's sports medicine and athletic training programs. He has been at Whitefield since 2008 and previously served as assistant athletic director and head athletic trainer. In those roles, Ryan provided athletes with instruction on the care and treatment of the body through proper nutrition, exercise, and rest. Ryan regularly addressed the needs of athletes with sprains or other injuries and applied appropriate medical treatment in conjunction with team physicians. Ryan also developed the Student WolfPack Athletic Training (SWAT) program for students interested in learning the basics of athletic training and assisting at sporting events. Before coming to Whitefield he had a seasonal internship with the Tampa Bay Rays and was a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech. He has an undergraduate degree in athletic training and sports medicine from the University of South Florida. Ryan is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is licensed and certified in the state of Georgia.
Nathan Stevens
Academic Dean and Upper School Principal
Nathan Stevens is the Middle School and Upper School academic dean at Whitefield and also serves as the Upper School principal. In addition, he leads Whitefield's Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), a team of faculty members who oversee curriculum development and instructional practices. The ILT works together to align curriculum with the mission of the school while emphasizing biblical integration. Prior to joining the Whitefield faculty, Stevens worked in education for sixteen years and administration for nine years, working as an academic dean and a principal at both the middle school and high school level. Stevens has a B.S. in History Education from Maranatha Baptist University and an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.
Ali Van Dillen
Director of Enrollment Management
Ali Van Dillen joined the Whitefield leadership team as director of enrollment management in 2017. With more than 20 years of experience in creating and implementing large-scale strategies, she has demonstrated an ability to leverage the strengths of her team members to accomplish the goals of an organization. Van Dillen has held leadership positions at Bank of America, SunTrust Bank, and Wells Fargo. In each of these roles, she worked to develop and execute strategic plans, business integrations, and marketing and communication programs. Van Dillen has a B.S. in accounting from Clemson University and has received a NASD Series 7 license and a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
